When I first tried this mix I thought, "How good or different could any cornbread mix be?" Answer: So good. And so different! It's beautiful with little flecks of blue/red corn in the batter, and it's super moist with a cake-like texture. Made with heirloom "Bloody Butcher" corn that is grown and milled at Snow Pea Farms in Alto, Michigan, it's made fresh and meant to be eaten fresh, so don't let this sit on your shelf for months--it'll be more flavorful and nutritious if you enjoy it soon.It's wonderful, of course, with stews and salads. But it's also amazing as an almost-dessert, when drizzled with local honey or home-made strawberry jam.
